Abstract
This thesis explores the context and specific historical methodology that permeate John Bale's Actes of the Englysh Votaryes. Particularly, it is interested in how Bale created his own, specific, Protestant vision of the English past, one which demonstrated not only the legacy and veracity of the Protestant faith but also the corruption of the Catholic presence in England.
