Description
In the first part of the cassette, George Meany gives his farewell speech concerning the Trade Union movement he led for 25 years. It takes place in Nov 15, 1979 at the opening of the 13th Constitutional Convention of the AFL-CIO held at Washington, D.C. In the second part, Lane Kirkland, Meany’s successor, offers words of praise about Meany at a mass held in his honor at St. Matthews Cathedral in Washington, D.C. on January 16, 1980.
