Abstract
Building Information Modeling refers to a computer programs that allow for the three dimensional modeling of the building components and the addition of informational data of said components. This technology is seeing greater use in larger, complex projects in the construction industry due to its integrative qualities. But whether or not the same can be said for the construction of single-family homes has yet to be seen as it has not been widely adopted. This thesis examines what areas of that industry BIM software is being utilized in, where it is seen as being effective and ineffective, and the attitudes towards its adoption.
