Abstract
The award-winning novels of Jonathan Franzen-- who graduated from Swarthmore in 1981-- have made him a household name in American letters, the epitome of literary and intellectual excellence, the face on the cover of Time. His novels are The Twenty-Seventh City, Strong Motion, The Corrections, and Freedom. Professor Weinstein's lecture precedes a lecture by Jonathan Franzen himself, on Feb 14, LPAC Cinema, 7:30pm.
