This paper analyzes the impact of sector level communications usage on sector contributions to output and trade in select African countries. The study uses a cross-sectional, pseudo-panel dataset that covers 16 countries across 7 sectors. The results indicate that sectors that use communications more intensively do experience significant gains in terms of their output. However, there were no significant effects on the nature of trade.
